About O₂ Rhythm

Jenell, founder of O₂ Rhythm

Hi, I'm Jenell.

I've been an emergency medical dispatcher for 10 years, and today I supervise and train other dispatchers. I built O₂ Rhythm for the minutes right after something hard happens. The ones nobody really prepares you for.

Why I built it

In dispatch, a hard call doesn't end when the line goes quiet. Often the next one is already ringing. There's no time to put it anywhere, so you carry it into the next call, and the next, and eventually home.

I looked for something that would help in those few minutes. Most of what I found needed an appointment, an account, a download, or more time than anyone actually has in the middle of a shift. So I built what I wished I'd had: something private and quick that works on any phone, right now.

Why breathing comes first

Outside of dispatch, I'm a mom. My husband works in law enforcement, so I also know what it's like when a hard shift comes home through the front door. I've also lost 100 pounds, through bariatric surgery and CrossFit, one hard day at a time. Along the way I became certified in breathwork and certified as a coach through USA Weightlifting.

Training taught me something I use on every shift: when your body is in overdrive, you can't think your way out of it. You have to breathe your way out first. That's why every visit to O₂ Rhythm starts with your body, not your thoughts. The breathing and resets in the app are the same ones I use myself, in the gym, at the console, and at home.

It's not just for dispatch

I realized it wasn't only about dispatch. Everyone has these moments. An argument with someone you love. Losing your temper and hating yourself for it. A loss, a mistake, bad news, a day that's simply too much. The minutes right after are when you're most alone with it, and when a little help goes the furthest.

What O₂ Rhythm does

It's built around three simple steps, the same ones I lean on myself:

  • Regulate. Calm your body first, with guided breathing and quick resets you can do anywhere.
  • Reflect. Get it out of your head, in private writing that never leaves your phone.
  • Connect. Don't stay alone with it. Read real words from people who've been there, or get help reaching someone in your life.

What I promise

Free for you, alwaysAnyone can use O₂ Rhythm at no cost. Organizations that offer it to their people are what keep it running.
Private by designNo account, no name. What you write stays on your phone. We only count anonymous totals.
No hoopsNothing to download and nothing to sign up for. It opens in seconds, when you need it.
Honest about what it isO₂ Rhythm isn't therapy or an emergency service. It's a first step, and it points you to real help when you need more.

Who it's for

Anyone, after a hard moment. Students and athletes, parents, nurses and teachers, first responders, people at work and people at home. If something just happened and you don't know what to do with it, it's for you.

Organizations can bring it to the places hard moments happen, with their own QR codes and anonymous reports. See how that works.

Say hello

I read every message. If O₂ Rhythm helped you, if something didn't work, or if you'd like to bring it to your team, write to me at hello@o2rhythm.com.
